A pen name for Yi Hwang (1501-1570), a scholar of the Joseon Dynasty; as a founder of Dosan Seowon, a Korean Confucian academy, in Andong, he taught many disciples; along with Yi I, he is regarded as one of the most prominent Neo-Confucian scholars in Korea.
