A scholar (1501-1570) of the Joseon Dynasty; as a founder of Dosan Seowon, one of Korea's Confucian academies, in Andong, he taught many disciples; along with Yi I, he is regarded as one of the most prominent Neo-Confucian scholars in Korea.
