Baekje
A kingdom that was in the central and southwestern regions of the Korean Peninsula, one of the three kingdoms of ancient Korea; after King Onjo established the Baekje Kingdom in 18 B.C., it developed around the Hangang River and greatly influenced Japanese culture; it was defeated by the allied forces of the Silla Kingdom and the Chinese Tang Dynasty in 660 A.D.
